hi,

I have some serious questions to ask you people, hope you will find some time to clear my doubts .

I want to pursue a career in oracle applications, means which involves lots of coding with sql, plsql and ofcourse - LOTS OF TECHNICAL CHALLENGES (WHICH MEANS LOTS OF TRICKS, DEVELOPING SOMETHING NEW, OVERCOMING PRESENT LIMITATIONS ETC.)

Presently I am learning sql on my own . But i also want to enhance my knowledge by getting some certifications. I saw that there are two type of tracks available, DBA and DEVELOPER. Can you tell me which track will cover what I need most ? And for that particular certification, what are the topics to be covered and what are the papers to be written ? I visited OTN, but it is so vast, that I am really confused. I am biased towards Developing, but there are so many specialisations that I feel myself a fool among the other oracle learners.

Currently, which has more growth and pay-package :- dba or developer ? And which GOOD companies in India are taking people with high skill in oracle? Please clear atleast one of the doubts. I will be grateful.

Thanks a lot,
Sarit.

Hi Sarit

check on http://education.oracle.com

if you are into programming, go for the OCP (deveolper). but there is no harm in learning DBA.
