Pls can anybody give me some tips as to how
1) to define a job in oracle9i for solaris
2) to schedule this job

Remember i hav prior expereince deploying jobs at windows platform but when i try it on (9i for ) solaris, the script does not work as it does not accept a submit job request.

You can use DBMS_JOB to schedule job within database.

Or
use an OS scheduler like crontab.

Dear Mahesh

Thanks a lot for your response.
Actually i had to do it at a clients server which they preferred doing themselves. Still its an important/valuable information for me.

Tanks a lot
