We have developed an application using VB. This will run on windows machine and will connect to an oracle DB running in Unix box. I know that we need an ODBC driver in the client machine to connect to oracle. But how to install this? Is it mandatory to have oracle client also?

FOr ODBC you need the oracle client where VB runs.
for JDBC thin drivers you dont need the oracle client.
