Hi,

the situation:

We have a oracle 9.2.0.4 on a Redhat Enterprise Linux ES on a  Compaq hp dl380-Server with Ultra 320 SCSI (4 GB RAM). It's a standardinstallation according to the manual from puschitz.com. There are 4 Instances running normaly with no much traffic.

When I start an import about 5 GB against a new instance now, it takes 11 hours!!

I tested the import in a test enviroment (virtual machine, w2000, ridiculus RAM) with an identical instance and there it takes 3 hours.

So I exclude instance-specific (SGA) problems and don't know what slows our server so down.

Sorry, but I have no great idea about linux and our linux-administrator is perplexed too.

Have anyone an advise or there are there similar problems known?
