Folks,

I have previously completed this set up on RH AS 2.1 for a 9.2.0.4 RAC environment with no problems following the instructions in oracle Note 240575.1

I have recently set up a new single instance box on RH EL 3 using the steps outlined in the Oracle Note 252217.1. Everything appears to work okay when I try to set up asynch io until I get to the part where it says to set the init.ora parameter filesystemio_options = asynch.

When I do this the database startup fails with a 3113. A pmon trace is generated complaining of a LGWR failure and that is as far as it gets. There is no LGWR trace generated.

If I start up with the same oracle kernel (relinked using asynch_on) without setting this parameter the database comes up okay. The problem here is that the doc indicates that this parameter is necessary to support asynch io on Red HAt with Oracle 9.2.0.4.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Found that and patched the instance a while back. Forgot to update my posting, sorry.
