hi all
is ist possible to recover a database
on a linux system with a oracle backup based
on solaris oracle db (same version - both 32 bit)?

Hi,

You cannot restore a physical backup on a different platform and expect the database to start. Nevertheless, you can export the data and re-import it on a different platform (logical backup). See the Backup/Recovery and Import/Export FAQs for details.
