All,

After much searching, I have gathered that Oracle Names was not released with 10g. What is the naming methods that Oracle now offer for DB name lookups and failover? Setting up 500 workstations with failover information that can change every now and then is not a method I would choose to implement.

Thanks,

D.

Hi,

Oracle Names Server is history now and if you want to use some centralized naming mehtod then you have to use Oracle LDAP server or Oracle Internet Directory.

For more info refer oracle doc.
