Q. Are you using Oracle clustering or Veritas Clustering??

If you are using veritas clustering then the set-up is very easy and straight forward. We have successfully migrated 4 databases recently to the same environment.

All you need to do is to include your database information in the configuration file for the cluster and make sure the required files for the cluster control are in one place (ease to manage that way).

The information that is required for the cluster are
1. pfile / spfile location.
2. location of password file, if any.
3. location of listener.ora file.
4. location of tnsnames.ora file.
5. the dba account that is used to startup the database.

Hope this is the information that you are looking for. Let me know if you need any specific details. Good luck. Thanks,

Kartik.
