Hi All,

I was going through the v$session dynamic view in oracle 10g.But I couldn't understand the values of the various columns like SADDR, PADDR. can anyone please help to understand what are these values, on what basis these values are assigned to a session or a process?

I'll be very much thankful, if you can help me to learn the actual meanings(not as in oracle doc.) of the various columns in the above mentioned view.

Thanks

It would be helpful if you followed Posting Guidelines - http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/88153/0/

when all else fails, Read The Fine Manual

Hi BlackSwan,
Thanks for your quick response, but can you please explain the actual meaning of these columns(SADDR,PADDR), means how these values are assigned to a particular session (SADDR) or to a particular Process(PADDR)

SADDR & PADDR are unique identifiers assigned by SEQUENCE.
What is street address?
What is IP address?
What does it matter how any address is assigned as long as it is a unique identifier?
