Hi all

I just wanted your opinion on this little issue.

I want to do a refresh from demo to test db to make them like duplicates. Thinking of methods to use my options are using transportable tablespace but in this case limited because i have to ensure i do all tablespaces in which the user has objects in it.

Then there is import and export which will take way too long to do an a > 100GB database.

If you have done this let me know your experiences and can the database be open during imp and exp using data pump.

Or you may want to check into RMAN active clone.. I use this
on many of my databases. In summary, it lets you copy your DB,
while its in use. One drawback is if you have objects in
nologging mode that are accessed duing the clone the DB you
are cloning to will most likely come up with corrupt data
blocks
