Hi

I am facing a problme in starting up the oracle database. Instance of oracle 9i could not start due to the following error:

Oracle Error:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

My Windows 2000 Advanced Server has 128 MD of Physical ram and 192 to 512(max) MB of Virtual ram.

I will be very thankful to u if u help me in solving the Problem.

go to control panel, administrative tools, services. you should see a service for your database if it already exists (otherwise you need to create one) and then press the play button to get your instance started.
