I think I have the same problem.

I use Oracle 8.1.7 on a Windows 2000 Server.

OracleService startup is set to automatic mode and registry keys are ok.
But after system shutdown the database is not opend or even mounted. With svrmgrl "connect internal" and "startup" works - but only manually!

I created the service in manual mode and set it to automatic afterwards - is that the problem?
What about the OracleStartXXX-service I'm used to in older versions of Oracle (7.3.4)?

Thank you for your reply
