Greetings Farooq !!!
To answer your question, the minimum amount of memory required to perform an Oracle 8.1.5 installation according to the Oracle Release Notes is 128 MB. To be very specific, they did state that 96 Megs may suffice, but it's rare to see that kind of a memory configuration.
Installation should go pretty smoothly on a system w/ a min. of 128 Megs RAM.
If your system has adequate memory, take a look at the Page File Size and increase the value assigned if necessary.
If you still encounter problems, you can always get in touch with me.

Best Wishes,

Dear Farooq,

For Oracle 8i onwards you should use minimum of 128MB RAM. I have even done it with 64MB RAM but with lot of problems.
