How to put its instace in Oratab?

OS: Solaris 8
Oracle: 8.1.7

file /etc/oratab should have

db1:/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7:Y
db2:/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7:Y

Just make another entry. Check the last parameter for Y or N.
