If you do not have Oracle Enterprise Edition (EE), then you cannot use Data Guard.

There are alternatives if you want Data Guard functionality but specifically for Standard Edition (SE, SE1 and XE).

One alternative is Dbvisit: www.dbvisit.com

Dbvisit can create and manage the standby database for you. Completely automated and easy to setup. Also supports RAC, ASM, OMF etc.

Kind regards,

You can also do it yourself without buying anything from the many scripts that are on the web.
Here's one: http://www.orafaq.com/forum/mv/msg/139482/490232/102589/#msg_490232

I have a Oracle Database EE and two servers located in different locations. Primary Server and Secondary Server.

You mean to use Data Gaurd as an disaster recovery to do failover from primary to secondary.
