Hi All,

Is oracle 10g availble for Windows 7, I downloaded oracle 10g from ORACLE'S website. The name of the file is "10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_db.zip" but when I m installing it, I m getting error at the very beginning regarding the system requirements failure.

below is the message which i receive at the PRODUCT-SPECIFIC PREREQUISITE CHECK

You could try running
setup.exe -ignoreSysPrereqs

I have tried that as well but it doesnot allow me to proceed further untill and unless the requirement are fullfilled Sir.

I have downloaded the right software then what else could be the reason that my prerequisite are getting failed.

Well, if that doesn't make any difference, you could either edit the oraparam.ini file to add an entry for Windows 6.1, or you could right-click setup.exe, go into the properties, and set the compatibility to Windows XP.
Only suggestions - I've never tried to do what you are doing.

Your basic problem is that you haven't downloaded the right software, because there isn't any right software: as far as I know, 11g is the only release certified for Windows 7.

Thanks alot sir this option worked for me.. Now its installed on Windows 7.

hi...
i'm also facing the same problem

i'm also using the windows 7 ultimate

but the problem is,
it is installing properly


but when i open my oracle and if i type the username and password it is getting closed automatically!!!!!!!!!

what am i supposed to do?????

Are OS Services for both database & listener started & running now?

open Command Window & issue following OS commands

SET
sqlplus scott/tiger

COPY commands above & results then PASTE all back here
