Hi all,

I have installed database in E drive of my machine. But somebody format my C drive without taking the database backup. Now

Is it possible to re-establis the connection with existing database because still all the directories are there in my E drive which were created at time of the database installation???

plsease help me on this.

post values for ORACLE_SID & ORACLE_HOME

What is OS name & version?
What is Oracle version to 4 decimal places?

Reinstall Oracle and use ORADIM to create the previous service associated to the database.

Hi All,
Sorry for late reply. My oracle version is Version 10.2.0.1.0. Below are my connection details.....
My SID is orcl and ORACLE_HOME is E:\oracle\product\10.2. 0\db_1

Conncection details = (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=sumit-amit)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=orcl)(CID=PROGRAM=E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\b in\emagent.exe)
(HOST=SUMIT-AMIT)(USER=OraUser))))

OS version = Microsoft windows XP professionals version 2002, service pack 2

Edit an instance by specifying the following options:

Delete instances by specifying the following options:

Startup services and instance by specifying the following options:
     -STARTUP -SID sid | -ASMSID sid [-SYSPWD pass]
 [-STARTTYPE srvc|inst|srvc,inst] [-PFILE filename | -SPFILE]
Shutdown service and instance by specifying the following options:
     -SHUTDOWN -SID sid | -ASMSID sid [-SYSPWD pass]
 [-SHUTTYPE srvc|inst|srvc,inst] [-SHUTMODE normal|immediate|abort]
 Query for help by specifying the following parameters: -? | -h | -help

Use -NEW option.
