Depends on your need.
Does the new database reside in same host or another host?
Do you want to restore or recover to some point in time?
You can restore/recover or use RMAN duplication feature.
All are addressed in documentation.

RMAN knows the one that it needs, just asks it but basically it is the last full backup plus the incremental ones (f you have any) plus the archived log ones until the point you want to restore. These are basic of RMAN and restore/recover.

1. I have backup data from Server A.

2. I finish setup new database on Server B.

3. I want to restore backup from Server A to Server B.

4. Server B is fresh database. No backup or list backup.

My point is how to restore and recover database from Server A to Server B? I already test but got some error. This is first time i restore backup to new database. Please assist me.

Messages like this does not help us anything.
Always post the exact error.
Had you read at least the headings in referred URL,
You could have come across this topic.

Mahesh, why don't you copy and paste the documentation here, don't you know that some are not even able to click on a link and read titles?

>ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected

1858, 00000, "a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected"
// *Cause: The input data to be converted using a date format model was
// incorrect. The input data did not contain a number where a number was
// required by the format model.
// *Action: Fix the input data or the date format model to make sure the
// elements match in number and type. Then retry the operation.

>SET UNTIL TIME 'May 7 2010 04:00:00';

In Oracle characters between single quote marks are STRINGS
'this is a string, 2009-10-02, not a Date'
When you need to convert STRING to DATE use TO_DATE() function.

Sorry to say, I'm not expert with database. I also don't have experience with database. Perhaps some expert here can show to use from link provide by Mahesh. Maybe some example.

If you can not understand the information in the manual, why should we spend our time to print the same information here & expect that you understand the same information here?
