We have a large division still running 10.7.8i on a 6900 domain that is costing us Smile dollars and sleep.

We will not be ready to migrate this to 11i/11g for a couple of years. We are wondering if anyone has ever successfully migrated to Solaris 10 using Solaris 8 containers.

If we could do that, we would also look at RAC/grid on Solaris 10 for two other 11i divisions rather than migrating them to Intel/Linux blades.

Any experience or feedback would be welcome!

Oracle RDBMS is Operating System (OS) agnostic.
It really does not know or care about flavor of OS underneath it.

Before proceeding with a combination, see what's supported, else you may be on your own when it comes to support...
