Any alternate for Record group in forms-V4.5????-Earnest Request. [message #374692]

I am trying to replace a record group, which queries the database to create a .CSV file. The query depends
on some of the parameters such as 'LIKE','=' which are specified in a non-base block
of the form and hence I ended up using Record group
instead of a cursor.The performance using record groups is not good as it takes hours if the required set of records are in 1000s in number. Tried using DBMS_SQL but could not as the forms-V4.5 does not support it.
Any help in this regard is really really appreciated. Thanks.
