Alas its a sad but true story...I bought oracle 8 and now 8i over a year ago. Because of
business problems I was not able to install it or begin working on it until now. Oracle
wants $3000 to renew my service contract and we don't have it.

I want to teach myself but know I will periodicly need to talk to someone about various
issues. So I'm looking for someone to help me. I can probably pay a little bit but it
would be out of my own pocket.

Mostly I envision them helping when I encounter a problem and just can't find an
appropiate resource. For example, I just installed 8i on my NT server. Everything seems
to be ok there. Whenever I try to connect with my work station, SQL+ starts my dialup
network connection and then freezes. How do I tell it not to start the dail-up connection
so that I can do the testing to see why I can't connect to the database from my work
station.

Do you know of anyone who might be willing to help???
