Hi all, I am trying to troubleshoot user's problem connecting to the Oracle database via ODBC from an application server. There are sql server's configured in the ODBC and I'm able to test the connection to the SQl server databases. BUt unable to test the connection for the Oracle database in ODBC. IS there a way to test the connection??

THe server does not have MS office installed, I thought I can try with the Excel.

Thanks for your help.

When you create the DSN you can click on the "test" button.

But, for some reason there is no test connection option when I create the DSN. I am using 'Microsoft ODBC for Oracle' driver.

But if I use the Oracle Client 10.2.0.1, I see the test connection option.

Any suggestions?? THanks.

Does it make any difference between both??

Using 'Microsoft ODBC for Oracle' driver or the Oracle client 10.2.0.1??

Thanks a lot.

Yes there are many differences, use Oracle one.
