Backup of Oracle Portal [message #340382]

I have read through all of the posts and have been looking for a way or a procedure to:
1. Backup my application server 10g portal installation.
2. Use the backup to create a duplicate application server on a seperate box.

Is this possible. I use rman to baackup the database and logs files.

1) Metalink Note:551899.1.
almost the same info in documentation also.
2) Depends on how you want to use it.
You can just do cold-copy restore or through a mirrored disk.
Just be aware that a lot of files/configs are hardcoded in application server. So if you want to use this in case of failover, make sure you edit the configs/change DNS etc.

ok, i followed the procedures on the page, and it seems like it doesnt work. The following command produces an error when i try to backup the repository:

bkp_restore.sh -m node_backup -o prepare

It starts out working but in the end i get this error:

Stopping all opmn managed processes ...
Starting opmn process ...
Checking the process status ...
OPMN managed processes shutdown successfully.
Performing repository backup ...
The command /oracle/infra/perl/bin/perl /oracle/infra/backup_restore/bkp_restore.pl -m
backup_cold -h /oracle/infra -M backup_instance_cold -n -T 2008-08-13_19-22-33
> /oracle/infra_recovery/log_files/2008-08-13_19-22-33_output.log failed with
return code 255
Repository backup failed.

Any ideas anyone??

Something not right with the OID stuff.
It may have to do with your environment or IAS configs.
I would raise a SR in metalink.
